I would stay away from this guy. These orthopedic surgeons with years of experience are stuck in an archaic profession that is designed around making money over healing people. Sat in his office with a severely wrecked shoulder from multiple piss poor shoulder surgeries and poor surgical decisions by two other surgeons in his field and the guy just shrugs his shoulders and says "your shoulders look symmetrical to me." If I could have given him a zero I would have. He never looked at my x-ray or MRI when he walked in. He asked which shoulder and what is going on with it. I said my shoulder cuff and labrum are torn and it's bone on bone. He said that the technicians like to call it that. He said I have a frayed tendon and that it happens when your "old". I asked why am I in so much pain. He said rudely "didn't I just say why". He told his intern to get a shot ready. I asked what is it, he said cortisone shot, again he said "didn't we just d... read more

I am a retired physician. I had left shoulder replacement with Dr. Hoenecke in December, 2015. He was on the same orthopedic team as Dr. Bugby (outstanding!!) who had replaced both of my knees previously. I was impressed with Dr. Hoenecke as a technically excellent surgeon who knew his stuff. I was pleased with the procedure, recovery and followup. However, and the reason I write this review, Dr. Hoenecke had a strangely variable bedside manner. I dislocated my shoulder at the gym in December of 2019, went to the emergency room where they told me that the shoulder was back in its socket and that I should get an MRI. Well Covid hit before I could get one and I let it ride for two years. When I finally got the MRI we learned that I had snapped off two of my rotator cuff tendons and they had shrunk in the two years since the injury.
