I went in for an allergic reaction to some antibiotics. He told me I was overreacting about the pain levels and to just “grin and bear it” for the rest of the antibiotics.

Dr. Bongers did not listen, called me fat, was condescending and missed low potassium that was causing severe muscle cramps. He caused me to be in pain for two days while I got an appointment with a competent doctor. He is not the finest KU Medical has produced

Dr Bongers is extremely disrespectful. He did not listen or even look at my symptoms instead he joked about it and didn’t treat the problem. I am done with his ego and lack of caring. Will be finding a new doctor.

He called me fat. Was disrespectful to me. I had undiagnosed heart disease and a bad gall bladder. He didn't listen to my symptoms at all.

I have ALWAYS received top notch care from Dr. Bongers. He takes time to explain exactly what he is prescribing and why. He is friendly and approachable as well. I feel like he truly cares about my well being and even inquires about my family and work life at the end of the appointment.

Have been going to him for years and my mother did too (died at 93). Always the best care and I would imagine the negative remarks come from people with problems that a family doctor might not be suited to treat.

If I could leave less than a 1 I would. I called and gave them my info on my health to see if he would accept me as as patient and he did. after he finally received my records he had his nurse do the dirty work and call me to tell me that he refuses to see me as a pt. he denied to fill my magnesium prescription, I have been on for months and refused to fill my cymbalta which I have been on for a good few mths now. We all know what happens when its not weened off of. How professional.

I can't speak to the negative reviews but mine are & have been exactly what I expecting. He spent as much time with me as needed. After addressing my needs, he asked numerous times if there were anymore questions about anything at all. His nurse always calls me back timely and they get me in timely if necessary. He was recommended to me by another provider who I trusted and I've been going to him for 10 years now. I hope you give him another chance and be upfront with him about any concerns.
