My low review has nothing to do with Dr. Barnett or the staff. It has to do with her protocol. My wife has been diagnosed with stage 1 anterolisthesis. A spinal surgeon recommended spinal fusion. We wanted a second opinion. My primary care physician recommended Dr. Barnett as well as two other neurosurgeons. Dr. Barnett's office insisted upon a litany of paperwork that caused me to go out of my way in order to provide the requisite documents and required me to make demands of our primary care physician. Warning elderly patients to stay away from Dr. Barnett, she was overly optimistic in convincing us my husband would be a candidate for back surgery, as a result from complications from Dr. Barnett operating on his back, he passed away 5 months after surgery. The surgery left him Paralyzed in one leg, incontinent of bowel and bladder.
I have had 14 major and minor surgeries over the last 20 years and the surgery Dr Barnett performed was very complicated and it ended up being the easiest surgery to recover from. You are hard pressed to even see the scar on my neck. She is hands down the best surgeon I’ve ever had. She kept me informed, answered any and all questions and follow up was incredible. Dr. Barnett is an amazing physician and much more in my opinion. I had previously had some pretty bad experiences looking for a qualified neurosurgeon when I was referred to her. She explained everything to me in detail and moved quickly to get me taken care of. She made it very clear to me as well as my family that my care came first. I saw Dr. Barnett in 2005. She is a wonderful woman and Doctor. She did surgery on my neck. She explains everything in a manner you can understand. She is very caring and ultimately compassionate to your needs. I would definitely recommend her.
I went to her for extreme back pain. She explained everything in a way that I could easily understand and after two back surgeries my back is better. Even after she was done she took an interest in my wellbeing ie. Saw me in the hospital after a major heart attack. She always has time for me.
Dr Barnett operated on me in May,2018 went back twice and complained with terrible pain! Could not get any help! Spoke with her assistant and was told they don't treat PAIN!! The pain after surgery was worse than before the surgery. I ended up with a new dr after months of unbearable PAIN. Don't expect them to care they don't
