Very disappointed with this office. Everyone is miserable, and the staff is rude, zero acknowledgment from anyone. The medical assistant had no patience and was so rude with my 5yr old when she was nervous about being measured for height—you’d definitely expect more understanding from a pediatric office but she was the most unfriendly. Took my youngest here for an appt a few weeks ago and same experience, knew I shouldn’t have gone back but figured that was an off day.
While we’ve always had a great experience with Dr. Altenburg and have no complaints regarding her care, the office staff has been a different story. Unfortunately, they have consistently been rude and unhelpful, and they do not follow directions well. We recently moved, and I’ve been trying for months to have my daughter’s medical records transferred to her new provider. I called to schedule a new patient appointment for my daughter. During the intake process, the front desk asked if she had certain medical conditions, one of which was ADHD. When I answered yes, I was told they would need to request and review her medical records before even scheduling an appointment. I asked if they were selectively choosing which patients to see, and was told no — that the review was to determine whether her medications would need to be changed or if she should be referred to a psychologist for medication ... read more
The worst pediatric office yet! Very disappointed! Lazy staff, rude staff, unprofessional. The building also smells of mold! I would not recommend this place to anyone. Highly disappointed!!! The doctor is kind…but the terrible staff ruins the experience.
Dr. Ellen Altenburg saw my toddler since he was born til about 2 (unfortunately had to find a new pediatrician as we had moved to Sebastian and the drive was just too far vs Vero) but she had always been super great with him, and even us. She was always helpful with any questions or concerns we had, and our toddler loved her! Definitely recommend her to anyone in the area looking for a good pediatrician
