Excellent manner and skills
I have been going to Dr. Hamilton for five years now. have had numerous procedures as a result of excessive sun exposure (bad choices at a younger age) including two melanomas removed. Have never had a problem or concern relative to any aspects of professionalism,performance or compassion as exhibited by office staff and especially Dr. Hamilton! I have recommended her - and the entire practice - to numerous people living in South Boston, Va, and absolutely will continue to do so.!
Dr. Hamilton is warm, friendly and very competent. She answers all questions promptly and explains each procedure well before doing performing it.
Incomplete visit. Addresses one issue per visit. Staff is indifferent and inconsiderate, especially medical assistant. Medical assistant was very unprofessional. Questionable standard of care. Will most likely been seen elsewhere within the week. Will not be returning. Waste of time.
I saw Dr. Hamilton's PA. A 'quick' procedure was suggested during my visit that, unbeknownst to me, had to be billed as a 'surgical procedure' - it was no longer a preventative visit, & I was billed $200. I called & explained my issue - how I felt it was disingenuous to bill me for a surgical procedure during a preventative care visit. I was told nothing could be done. I could have accomplished the same via a $7 expenditure at Walmart or CVS. The bottom line is of paramount importance to them.
Dr. Hamilton has been my go to dermatologist for many years. I have always had good experiences with her, as she takes her time with me and seems very concerned about my care. I find her to be an extremely bright lady who educates also about skin care, specifically preventing skin cancer, which is prevalent in my family.
My family of 5 were all patients with Dr. Hamilton. Things went pretty well for a few years; however, she recently became adversarial and very difficult to work with for no apparent reason. Some of the office staff are good. There seems to be some awareness among the staff that she has become irritable and difficult. In terms of effectiveness for dermatological issues, she was able to resolve about 50% of our issues. Coordinating appts can be difficult. Definitely would not recommend.
Very professional and cares about the patient.
