I had the median nerve in my dominant wrist shredded and severed which made it useless and hurt like your worst tooth ache. No other doctor could figure it out. I suffered for two years with a lot of pain and atrophy. Dr Coleman gave me my life back. He used a nerve from my left leg and rewired my hand completely. There were some muscles that were damaged and nodes had grown on the tendrils of the damaged nerve. Dr Coleman moved some of the muscles around so I could have the use of my thumb again. Dr. Coleman was my hand orthopedic doctor for over 8 years. He immediately knew my condition, began treatment, and kept me 'working' as an exec admin for as long as he could, but eventually, I needed surgery. The procedure was quick, though rehab took about a year, as he said it would for full agility to return. Of which it has. I can't thank dr. Coleman and his staff enough. Recommended an intense thumb surgery when there was zero evidence I needed it. Turned the residents face white as they looked at the x-ray. Second Dr said I needed it too, 6-month recovery. I have had Anxiety over this for 5 years. Now all of a sudden, I find I Never needed it at ALL!! Just another guinea pig for residents.
