Always very thorough, always checks notes from other specialists involved in care, so that care is coordinated meaning fewer missed things. Very attentive to patient concerns.
I have been going to Dr. Shapiro for over 25 years. He is the best doctor I have ever been to in my life and I am 79 years old. His diagnostic ability is the best I have ever seen. He picks up on your attitude, whether you are feeling bad and for extremely serious illness beyond his purview, he recommends a specialist he would recommend to his own family. He is always friendly and smiling. Even though I know he checks his notes, he acts like you are the only patient he has. I have recommended his to several friends and they ... read more
PCP. caring and thorough
My husband and I love Dr. David Shapiro. He is very prompt unless someone needs a little more of his time. He is very caring and addresses all of our concerns. It is difficult to get through on the telephone so I use his patient portal for questions, med refills or appointments. I get an answer within 24 to 48 hours and I don't have to wait on the telephone.
Be very aware. Took time to bring in my mother to sign HIPAA forms. Her and my time are very valuable. So it seems that they have LOST the form that was filled out and not imputed into the system. Now have to redone. Make sure you have them do what they are paid for.
5 Star physician with 1 Star only for many of his front office staff. The very WORST customer /patient service I have ever experienced. There are some really caring women on staff but many women I have dealt with there are condescending and outright aggravated with any questions asked of them.
I loved Dr Shapiro. However, I needed information and help from his staff. They never answer the phone, if they do they quickly say "hold please"and often you are hanging on the phone over 30 minutes or more. Often no one EVER answers the phone. After a couple of months trying to get through, I had to find another Dr. who's staff can answer a phone call. The same thing happened when I tried to make my first appointment with him. It took months of calling. Rude and incompetent staff.
He is a goodDr but the frustration comes with dealing with the office staff; mainly Wanda. Very unprofessional and will hang up rather than dealing with a situation that is not yes or no.
Excellent and thorough Doctor. He was first my mother's doctor (she has since passed. RIP) Now, he is my doctor. I used to go to Health First. Due to my insurance at the time, I ended up with Osler and Dr. Shapiro. I am so glad that happened! He and his staff are great.
