All I can say is Cory Hugen is the man. Not only do I feel Cory changed my life, but he has also brought me back to life. He removed a stage 1, 4 cm tumor from my kidney on April 9th 2025 due to an abnormal find during a surfing accident which turned out to be papillary renal cell carcinoma, that I knew nothing about. But with Cory's amazing bedside manor he educated me about the positive and negative sides of this cancer and that we shouldn't wait to remove it and I'm greatful I found Cory at the city of hope Irvine. I was referred to Dr. Hugen from my primary care doctor. I was experiencing pain and discomfort, but the soonest appointment was 3 weeks away so I decided to wait. I went through multiple phone calls with his staff in order to collect information about me, the first of which was a 20 minute screening call and then 2 more calls after that to collect more info about me.
