87 year old father admitted to hospital after seizure. Found a meningioma on top right of brain. 2/3 hour surgery turned into 7 as the tumor was much larger and imbedded in a lot of scar tissue. My father has made such a remarkable recovery! Dr. Lothes was assigned to us. No second opinion was received. He was difficult to find time to consult with however, his PA answered many questions. My 84 year old mother, who lost her husband 2 months earlier and three weeks after that fell and fractured two vertebrae in her back, had an appt with Dr. Lothes but forgot to get new x-rays taken so she could get his approval to stop wearing her brace. Finding out from his nurse that she forgot to get images, Dr. Lothes would not even see her or talk to her to explain or help smooth over her frustrations over forgetting to get new x-rays. I had a surgery about 2 years ago having a lot of hardware put in my neck to reduce the pain and numbness I was having. It took three months to see him and another to schedule and do the surgery,after that I never saw him again for any apptointment's at six months or year check up. At my one year check up his assistant saw me even though he was 10 feet away in the hallway, she said the Dr. was not pleased with the healing and would like to see me again in a year. i waited over an hour in the exam room fo him to come in. He seemed indifferent & made me feel like I shouldn't have been there wasting his time. I was seeing him because of having pain & numbness & tingling in my R arm for 6 months. Prior to seeing him, I had a nerve conduction study (which he was skeptical of because it said the symptoms were from my neck. Not carpal tunnel) I also had a cervical myelogram & CT Scan done which I took along. He did not explain things well. Would not recommend.

Would not recommend this doctor to anyone. Don’t waste your time. I have complex pain in the neck down through the spine. My condition is further complicated by six autoimmune diseases. After waiting three months to get an appointment all of sudden after sending them my mri they wanted to see me ASAP . At the meeting he was completely disengaged and uninterested about my health. He could not answer one question . No concern or compassion . He is not a doctor. Just a poorly trained surgeon.

Dr. Lothes behaved in a disinterested and disengaged manner. He acknowledged my pain but offered no treatment suggestion. He was unwilling to offer any info until it was dragged out of him. It took a lot of effort and repeated questions to get any info at all. After my exam, he sat silently staring at me until my wife (an RN) asked several Qs about options. He behaved in a distant and disengaged manner. I was not pleased with the service I received from him. I won't be a return patient.

My mom never felt better after the surgery. Went back for her six week check up, she was still in a lot of pain and explained to Lothes that she did fall a couple of times and he acted like we were wasting his time. He said it wasn't her back causing all the pain and for us to see a hip doctor. We did, wasted another two months as the new MRI showed it was her back, from the falls I told him about that he wasn't a bit concerned over. To this day my 83 year old mom is still in great pain!
