Dr. Graf was quite knowledgeable, as well as very skilled. He was able to talk me through my diagnosis, as well as my treatment. My surgery was not an easy one, but my recovery went just as planned. I was pleased to be able to say that the pain I have felt for over a decade was essentially immediately gone and I felt very good other than expected post-op discomfort. Dr. Graf and the Illinois Spine Institute were recommended to me by a close friend who had been fighting back pain for some time. My situation was more urgent. I contacted the office on a Monday in April and Dr, Graf was able to see me by Thursday. Surgery was needed to relieve the pressure on my spinal cord which had caused me to lose muscle control in my left leg. If you're searching for a knowledgeable Dr. who does his job well he's your guy. Very personable, explains things thoroughly, great bedside manner, good staff. He did an Anterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion. Highly recommend.
DR. Graf is the best. after a car accident I suffered with neck pain and intense numbness and tingling in my arm. I really didn't want surgery, but after all other alternative forms of relief failed to help IE. Therapy, Spine Epidurals. Dr. Graf explained the whole procedure to me and made me feel at easy. I got a double cervical fusion, and was pain free in a day or two. but the numbness and tingling were gone immediately. also the scar is hard to find. I would Highly recommend Dr. Graf
After many months of intense back pain and treatments from other doctors that did not help me, I was living a very compromised daily life. I am grateful to have been a patient of Dr. Graft because he correctly diagnosed my issues. After being treated by other doctors for back pain for some time I went to see Dr.Graf after the recommendation of my family doctor. it didn't take long t feel at ease with Dr Graf. After testing he showed and explained what I needed all you had to do was look at the radiology films and that is what he said at the very start.
For 2 years I had dealt with a work related back injury. Lower lumbar. The pain went from my lower back, burning down the side of my leg with tingling and numbness in my shin and top of my foot. Couldn't stand for more than 5 or 10 min without pain and having to sit or lay for relief. After all other attempts to correct my injury failed including epidurals, surgery was recommended. As you can imagine, that thought is scary and you can only hope you get the best possible surgeon! I DID! 5-STARS!
Dr graf performed a spinal fusion on me. It was my first surgery. He was clear in describing what he'd do and what to expect. He was confident without being arrogant... he listened to my concerns and answered all my questions. My recovery has gone very well and I'm back to living a full life!
