I recently got a vasectomy with Dr Shay. He was excellent. The procedure was mostly painless; the worst part was the numbing injection, and that wasn’t too bad. Dr. Shay has a very welcoming and gentle manner about him, which is really what you want in a doctor doing such an embarrassing examination. I was referred to Dr. Shay by my family physician, for what turned out to be a large cist on a kidney. After referring me to others, to drain the cist of over two liters of fluid on two occasions; Dr. Shay successfully removed the cist, while saving my kidney. This fine surgeon did everything possible to avoid operating, to minimize the intrusion. In my opinion, he upholds the highest standards of the medical profession - both in compassion and competence. He was/is a blessing in my life!
Dr. Shay was very personable and "down-to-earth". His explanations were not filled with medical trivia. He explained all my options, along with the pros and cons of each.
Dr. Shay is very professional at his work. During my procedure we talked about football the majority of the time to take my mind off of everything because I was very nervous. Before I knew it he was finished. Definitely a doctor that I would recommend to anyone.
Had bladder cancer. Dr. Shay took care of the problem. Have been going for routine exams for 6 years. Wonderful Dr.. Listens and explains things in a manner you can understand.
Misdiagnosed my problem, spent a lot of money on tests he recommended, to no avail. He would not listen and ignored obvious facts. Still suffering from the same symptoms, had to go to another Doctor to get it taken care of.
My friend who is a registered nurse recommended Dr. Shay for my bladder leakage problem. She also was his patient and had successful surgery. My first visit was extremely pleasant He listened patiently with me, answered my questions and explained the process that he would follow. I was given tests and it confirmed my problem. Dr. explained surgery should help me. I had surgery and it is now 4 months later. Thank goodness I no longer experience that embarrassing problem and I thank Dr. Shay.
