He's a great psychiatrist in that he cares about his patients, incredibly difficult to reach over the phone and email. Cvs couldn't even get in touch with him. I'd rate him higher but this is the second time to which i've needed a refill and he's just been completely MIA. I had to reach out to the dean at my school to even get in touch with his assistant.
He treated me for eight years and then dismissed me for a minor misunderstanding with his staff. Turns out, one of the medications he had me on the entire eight years is intended for very short term use and highly addictive. He dismissed me with one month of medication and then refused to give me my medical records. He rushed me through appointments and would be writing out my prescriptions while we talked. Needless to say I was not impressed with Dr. Mangat at all. He barely let me speak about my problems so I properly could be diagnosed. He rushed me out as fast as he could. My suggestion to any of y'all thinking about going to him. Don't he doesn't seem to care enough to let you speak. Find another Doctor. Thank You Michelle
Dr. Mangat is highly intelligent, well-informed, and excellent at what he does. He is also kind, caring, and dedicated to making sure patients get what they need. I have recommended this doctor to my friends and will continue to do so. He has a wealth of knowledge and realms of experience. I am pleased with his ability to listen and understand what I struggle to express. He picks up things quickly; it is amazing. He is not strong on chatting, but he can find you a social worker. His focus is evaluating my health and finding strategies. He is a tall imposing man, a Sikh with a turban. Get over it. His English is as good as mine, and he has a big heart.
Dr. Mangat explains mental illness so clearly that I finally understood what was happening in my mind. He really works to make sure you are actually complying with what he prescribes, and I got some tough love a few times. But it WORKED. Brilliant doctor - the best psychiatrist I've ever seen. It's not about pleasing or pacifying you. It's about treating you. I went to tons of psychiatrists before Dr Mangat - someone who actually told me what I needed to hear. Dr. Mangat is the most amazing man I have ever had the privilege of meeting. He took the time to listen and really understand what was stuck in my mind but also help me understand it all. He helped me put words to things I've fought with for years and I now have a true sense of relief that I will see progress as he understands much deeper than any other MD out there. He personally connects and helps you understand not only your conditions but each medication Anand it's effects and purpose.
