I had very positive experiences with Dr. Huen and, like the previous reviewer, am very sorry that he is no longer at UPMC. I would certainly continue to see him if I knew where to reach him.
One of the only dermatologist that actually tried to help me, he never made me feel like I was crazy, he listened to me and did the best he could. I wss told he's no longer at Falk Clinic, I'd like to continue going to him can't get any information of his whereabouts.
Dr. Huen was patient and friendly. I first saw the resident and medical student, who reviewed the reason for my visit and did an initial diagnostic screening. After their exam, Dr. Huen came in and reviewed their findings, then did a more thorough exam. He explained what he was doing and whether or not follow up care was needed. I found him to be very friendly and explanatory.
Most terrible experience I have ever encountered with a health care provider in my life. After 20 min wait he came in with his resident and started yelling how dare I was to request him to come in sooner. A doctor with zero bedside manner, disrespectful, and angry. I never went back to him due to this fearful experience.
I've had the same experience as the individual that posted on May 5, 2016. I did not appreciate the 30-45 wait, the way the Resident who came in first, then Dr. Huen did not even shake my hand once they introduced themselves being that I was a new patient. Dr. Huen visit with me was about 12 minutes, he talked fast, did not ask if I had any questions and he was out the door. I was not comfortable at all with they way he handled my appointment as a professional.
After an extensive wait, and well past my appointment time, I was expecting to meet with Dr. Huen yet was greeted by a Resident instead. During the next 45 minutes I met with Dr. Huen for only about 10 minutes and was attended to instead by the energetic (cocky) Resident. The subsequent treatment and general experience ensured that I cancelled the follow up appointment and was determined never to return. Also, be aware of the expensive hospital charge that comes separately from the Dr's bill
