Another great visit to Dr Avery. He gets me in quickly for knee injections and takes time when I have questions. (And he figured out that my old xrays were mislabeled L and R.)
I am very pleased with staff and Dr A. Avery’s care for me during two knee replacements. I had the second replacement one year after the first. Before the surgeries, all my questions were answered . Competent, thorough, compassionate care for my mom’s broken arm. Came up with great options for casting when memory issues were of concern.
Very friendly, conversational, knowledgeable. Answered all my questions patiently and completely. Didn’t rush anything. Only negative was having to wait nearly an hour to see the doctor.

I saw Dr. Avery last year when I had to have my second ACL reconstruction surgery. He is really knowledgeable about how the body works and told me things about my knee that other surgeons didn't see on my MRI. Also, the entire staff at all Ortho VA locations are really friendly and very helpful as well. Overall, I'm so glad I went to Dr. Avery and highly recommend him to everyone! Thank you!!
Doctor saw me close to my appointment and clearly explained what was causing my issue.
We met Dr. Avery in the ER and since then he has been providing excellent care for a broken arm as the result of a freak fall. He clearly explained worst and best case scenarios and was both competent in resetting the break and very compassionate with our son during the monitoring and healing process. We would recommend him to others!
