I went in to talk to the doctor about if I was going into menopause and the doctor completely ignored my reason for being there, never answering my questions. She did however decide to do a physical exam and thorough history which made her decide I needed a colposcopy on a mole and a biopsy of my uterine lining without discussing these treatments, what they were for and possible alternatives. Poor service. Scheduled an appointment to see the doctor, but at the end of the visit it turned out a nurse practitioner saw me. All that time, I thought I am seeing a doctor.
I scheduled an appt for an annual exam after my last OBGYN retired. My employer pays 100% for annual wellness exams but I was still billed $102 for an additional office exam. When I called to ask why, the office staff stated it was due to I had asked questions regarding other minor issues so I was billed for another visit & when I sent a letter stating that I was going to complain to my insurance Co. I was sent a letter back that I can no longer be a patient there due in non-compliance. Unreal!
The office staff are extremely rude. You call them and schedule an appointment to see the doctor, but you go there and they tell you that a nurse practitioner is going to see you!! Anyway the nurse saw me for less than two minutes, she took my old prescription and wrote the same thing, then they send me a bill for $264. Even though this was supposed to be my annual visit covered by my insurance. Never go there!
I am leaving this practice after 10 years of care. I am treated like a number... I never see the same provider more than once. I had an ultrasound to check my iud and was never told that I had large uterine fibroids that should be followed. Most recently I received a robo call that said “this call is regarding your upcoming apt on 5/1, please call the office as we may need to reschedule your apt. Press 1 to confirm your apt”. I pressed 1, but when I arrived I was told my apt was cancelled!
If I could put negative stars or no stars I would. When I first started going here a year ago I really liked them. However, I went this past Christmas and had the worse experience. So bad that I complained to my insurance company and chose a new OBGYN. When I was seen (about 40 mins late) the woman who saw my barely listened to me, decided what I should do without giving me any options, wrote incorrect notes in my file, and gave me a really painful exam. I would have gladly given Dr Garcia a 5 star review, I've been a patient of hers for years however I just called to make an appt and was informed that I a $96 balance from 3 years ago that was sent to a collection agency for a missed appt 2015 and they cannot help with the fee and cannot are me until its paid. WHAT??? Very disappointed and if they won't even work with me on a fee that wasn't even for services received then guess I'm looking for a new obgyn. Very disappointed!
I HAVE A VERY EXTENSIVE HISTORY WITH DR GARCIA AND HER PRACTICE IN CORTLAND NY. THE FIRST FEW YEARS WERE GREAT, THEN THERE WERE ALWAYS NEW FACES FROM SECRETARIAL STAFF TO MEDICAL STAFF, NEVER SAW THE SAME NP OR PA TWICE, ONLY SAW DR GARCIA WHEN I NEEDED TO A SURGICAL PROCEDURE. BILLING IS ALMOST FRAUDULANT, SHE CHARGES AN OFFICE COPAY FOR YEARLY PREVENTATIVE EXAMS THAT MY HEALTH INSURANCE PAY AT 100%.... SHE GOT AWAY WITH THAT FOR THE LAST TIME. VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS PRACTICE
From my first urgent appointment, through all the tests, procedures and finally surgery, Dr. Garcia and her staff were always friendly, caring and professional. Dr. Garcia took her time to listen to my concerns and explained what each test and/or procedure was for and explained the results in terms that the average patient would understand.
