I saw Dr. Jaws for right shoulder, which needed to be replaced. I had a reverse shoulder replacement. I'm very happy with the results. At 12 weeks PO, I have no pain, and most of my mobility back. Working on gaining strength. Dr. Jaws has a great "bedside" manner. Explains everything, called the night before the surgery to see if I had any questions, saw him twice before surgery, a few times after, just really attentive. Dr Andrew Jawa is a highly accomplished, skilled, and experienced shoulder joint replacement surgeon. Also, the best part about my experience with him is that he is a very kind, compassionate, and caring human being. He will listen to all your concerns and explain everything to you. After consulting with five top shoulder joint replacement surgeons in New England, I selected Dr Jawa as the best choice. I highly recommend him.
I went to see Dr. Jawa to get a second opinion on whether I should have shoulder surgery. He spent close to 45 minutes with me listening to me explain my situation (a failed rotator cuff repair), explaining what was happening in my shoulder, setting me up with a specific physical therapist, and explaining my options. In comparison, my first consult spent 5 minutes with me and, in writing the referral for physical therapy, got major pieces of information incorrect. Met with Dr. Jawa about reverse shoulder replacement after 4 surgeries for right rotator cuff. He laid out all the pros/cons clearly along with alternate not invasive therapies to try. Listens well, encourages question, and very clear with answers as well as explains things.
Your only reason to consider any another shoulder surgeon than Andrew will be after he retires
Dr. Jawa is more than an incredibly competent surgeon! He takes the time to answer all of his patients questions and concerns and is tuned into the emotional impact of having surgery! He is not only skilled but so kind and caring which goes a long way! I would recommend him without reservation to anyone facing shoulder replacement or surgery of any kind!
I have seen several surgeons and sport medicine doctors (including HSS In New York City) for chronic shoulder pain/rotator cuff tear resulted from a fall 2 years ago. I'm very fortunate he was able to perform a revision reverse total shoulder joint replacement for me at the New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, MA. I highly recommend him as an outstanding shoulder joint replacement surgeon.
Had my X-rays first and saw Dr. Jawa on time! Everything looks great and I won’t see him for three years! The Baptist is the best along with Dr. Jawa as my doctor. Very pleased.
