Dr. Irwin has been part of my cancer team since diagnosis. During early testing, she wasn't completely clear about the timeline for test results which was a little frustrating because it was such an emotional time. However, for the last two years we've had a very good doctor patient relationship. She is thorough, listens well and is flexible.

I'm so grateful to have Dr. Irwin as my oncologist. She's at the top of her field, incredibly nice and I know I'm in good hands.

Dr Irwin seemed wonderful at first. Was very interested in working with me, however once chemotherapy finished and I was put on letrozole for 7-10 years by her she was not as available. I have had many concerns and side effects that have not been addressed since we on this med and my dentist even requested a test be done yet Dr Irwin was unwilling to order the test or have me come in to talk. I am seeking a new oncologist who is more available to their patients after chemotherapy.

Dr. Irwin makes her patients her priority including new ones. My surgeon contacted her with a hope that Dr. Irwin can see me the week after however she made time from her busy schedules to see me on the same day. After meeting with Dr. Irwin I am more positive with my cancer diagnosed. She was very thorough in explaining my treatment plans. Within 30 minutes, her staffs provided me different schedules so I can start my treatment immediately.

I was referred to Dr Irwin in November of 2012 when they determined I had Stage II breast cancer. After 6 years I can say that I trust her 100% with the treatment plan that she's developed for me. She spends the time needed to explain each of my test results so that I can understand them and also explains the medications I take and why I'm taking them. She is very well informed about any new treatments that are out or that will soon be available. I would recommend her to my family and friends.

I have been a patient of Dr. Irwin's since 2016. She was recommended by the surgeon who performed my hysterectomy and discovered that I had ovarian cancer. From the very beginning, she has been honest with me, has not made promises that she cannot keep and at the same time is there for me. I would highly recommend Dr. Irwin and everyone at Virginia Cancer Specialists if you are looking for a great team of doctors/nurses/staff.

I was a patient of Dr. Irwin for 7 years in VA. I moved to NJ back in 2016, and I flew back to visit her couple of times. As you can imagine, flying back and forth is a little hard and at times I wasn't able to get an appointment, which would be work with my work schedule. I’m very sensitive and picky with choosing my Doctors, and not only Dr. Irwin is a brilliant, and generous Doctor, but also a wonderful human being. You don't find that combination that often.

I have been to a few oncologists over the years and Dr. Irwin is by far the best. Not only is she a great doctor but she is great communicator as well which is a very rare combinations of qualities in an oncologist.
