Dr. Dar struck me as being very knowledgeable, smart, caring and helpful. He clearly explained his diagnosis and the plan going forward. He was compassionate and very reassuring. We left feeling educated and hopeful, but realistically so. I look forward to continuing my journey with Dr. Dar on my team.
Dr. Dar is a world renowned Oncologist. I went through the various treatment stages under his care successfully and looks like finally I am out if the woods. I’ll remain grateful to him always.
I hadn’t seen Dr. Dar in 4 years as I was seeing a radiation specialist. With this return visit it was obvious he ha reviewed my records sufficiently for my annual checkup. Thank you Dr. Dar.
Dr. Dar listened to my story and offered a few solutions along with blood tests to point me in the best direction. I feel that he is up to date on the latest solutions and genetic impacts. He is very personable and smart.
Dr. Dar and his staff are nothing but incredible. Very caring and always staying ontop of everything. They treat me like a person not a patient.
After my medi-port was installed by Dr. Walter,Virginia Surgery Associates (VSA) and my first Chemotherapy was scheduled, treatment was fine. There was a disconnect between Virginia Cancer Specialists (VCS) and VSA which wasted time. Almost 100% of the time you can never reach anyone when returning a phone call to VCS and when so, it takes up to 5 minutes to get connected. Overall, I am very pleased with Dr. Dar's diagnosis and treatment recommendations when I have treatment or a visit.
After 5 years or more of treatment in coordination with other specialists around the country, my husband received a phone call from Dr. Dar’s office saying he needed to “choose” a treatment provider. Multiple phone calls from him, Georgetown and Sloan Kettering specialists. No response. He is transfusion dependent and had serious anemia. This is a traumatic experience for a critically ill patient. As a medical provider, I can tell you this is a serious breach of ethics. Egregious malfeasance!
I had major surgery and felt terrible, I suspected I was anemic and had trouble convincing my providers, who claimed my iron levels were all normal, I went back to Dr Dar who I had seen years ago, and asked him to check my ferritin levels. He did, and I did have a problem, He really does listen and is very caring, as well as, down to earth. He makes sure that you continue to feel comfortable. I would highly recommend him and his very kind staff.

The nurse does a great job when giving injections and always finds my veins...not easy to do. I have had several others and she is one of the best.
