They did nothing but take my 250 dollars. This is not the typical pain practice where you check-in and check-out with a bunch of narcotics with refills. They are mostly procedure oriented and if you are a pill seeker, you don't get a return call or visit. You are treated with respect as long as you are not a pill head, once you get into medication only option..they tend to lease you out to other providers in the area. Dr. Thiyaga is an excellent Dr! He never tried to push medications on me like other Drs in the past. He was very helpful and explained my problem in a way I could understand. My first visit went great. His nurse was very caring she called me back and came in and asked me questions about my problem. At my previous Dr. the nurses were rude and short. when the Dr. came in he already knew who my other doctors were and details about my pain. You will never get refills. Dr.Thiyaga will demand you come in every single month for refills. This is not only a burden on Medicare but the patients as well. It doesn't matter to him if you never change medication. He will demand monthly visits and your co-pay or you lose. No making arrangements. I highly recommend you look elsewhere.
The worst staff you have ever met. Told me to come in an hour before the appointment and then tried to get me to sign a document saying that if Im late to my appt there will be a $25.00 charge and if its more than 15 min late I would have to reschedule and more charges for cancelling ($100+) and other charges for scrips without a visit, rescheduling etc etc...The only things he didn't charge for was the air I was breathing in his clinic. You really are the best pain management Doctor I have ever had and as long as I live in the area I will be your patient. The quality of patient care you have given me is exceptional! Please never leave the upstate of SC I would literally cry if you did.
I have been to several pain specialists in the area & have had various procedures to the neck/ head region, neck, & lower back area. In a quick review, one of the procedures done by this doctor left me with moderate to severe burning, comparable to a painful sunburn, that lasted about 9-11 months in the neck to upper-shoulder region. Dr. Thiyaga seems to be a good doctor but he is surrounded by inefficient staff. It has been six weeks since he told me he would refer me to a surgeon. I've called but receive no return calls.
I would reccomend Dr. Thiyaga to anyone. His office has had some changes recently and it seems he has a brand new staff; that are very friendly. His office manager is the best! She was over handeling my injecion; she got me right in where before it took me months to get in for a shot. This is the doctor to go if you are looking for help and a better quality of life not drugs.
