Douglas Residential could have done better to create honest respectful communication with tenants, could have done better at starting the lease on the rental property with everything clean and functioning, and could have been honest and fair about move out inspections and returning security deposits.
Update: I knew they would respond with something ridiculous . We didn’t remove any lights. You also can’t market a house as a two car garage and then have a giant shelf in the way of the second car to fit. False advertising. You all should have been responsible for that, not us. And you also should have been the one to remove the baby room wallpaper before we moved in. Also, notice the other bad reviews. We moved into this house needing a two-car garage — that was non-negotiable for us. The house had been on the market to sell for a long time before it was switched to a rental, and it showed: we moved into a home that was clearly not move-in ready. I have been a renter for 15 years and this has been the worst property management experience I have ever had. Cathy Douglas is extremely unprofessional and rude, that’s when you can actually get her to respond to you. Every maintenance request we submitted, I had to call Cathy every day until one day she would answer, with no regard to the issue at our home.
