I had an upcoming appointment for what I thought was a routine maintenance colonoscopy ordered by my primary . My previous was 10 years ago, when I was told to have another screening. Providence called me today 5 days before my scheduled procedure advising of $3,700 due and offered a payment plan. My 1st time seeing a GI Dr in my entire life in my 40's. I went in for some acid symptoms and came out with a bill of over $4,000 out of pocket with Aetna insurance. It's a 100% scam. I wasn't even diagnosed with acid reflux. They implanted me with a Bravo device to measure ph levels without thoroughly explaining to me the procedure and told me that this device would detach on its own within 4 days.
