Nice guy personally but the office is ancient and desperately needs updating in terms of equipment. The cleaning by the hygenist was the most superficial one I ever had.
Excellent service to my whole family since 1996 when my kids were 8 and 12. Referred to other dentists as needed. Accepts Delta Dental.
Very efficient and effective (although I haven't had anything fancy done).
I was very disappointed with my overall experience at Dr. Arakawa's office from the first phone contact to the very painful and upsetting teeth cleaning with an incompetent dental hygienist who rubbed and yanked her fingers over my bleeding gums as she cleaned my teeth. I will never go back.

Dr Doug and his staff are so nice. I feel I am treated like a friend or family when I am there. The facility is an older Palo Alto home turned into a dental suite. Not the tech office but rather a comfortable homey office. Dr Doug is a perfectionist and his front office staff is so very helpful with billing and insurance questions. I love it there.
Dr. Douglas Arakawa is the most sincere man. Another dentist told me I needed $7K worth of work done on my teeth. Dr. Arakawa told me this was not neccessary and my family and I have been very happy with him ever since. Thank you!
Dr. Arakawa has been my dentist since 1987, when I first moved to the area at the ripe age of six. I didn't realize how good I had it until I went to college and started looking for a local dentist there. After 3 bad experiences, I had had enough: From then on, I returned to Palo Alto for my dental appointments. He is not the cheapest, but on par for Palo Alto. My family has used Dr. Arakawa for 10 years and have been very happy with him and his staff. They bill directly to Delta Dental and we never need to worry about completing insurance paper work etc. When more complicated issues arise, they refer to specialists and the ones to which they have referred us have also provided excellent service.
