The hotel was alright, it was nothing spectacular along with the room. I did run into some major issues with my stay. 1st the heating and air conditioning system in my room was temperamental. I had the AC set to 70 degrees and it got too cold, I adjusted the temperature to 71 degrees and it got too hot. There was no happy medium. Part of the problem is that the HVAC system is blowing directly on a person when they're laying in or on the bed, which led me to turning the HVAC off. It's obvious that the place is outdated. It almost adds to the charm. Very well run building. Super clean, friendly and great location.

We stayed here for 3 nights, coincidentally, on Columbus Day weekend. The hotel is a little dated but in a classic good way. Staff were welcoming and helpful. My wife and I stayed on the 4th floor and my parents on the 2nd. Walking the halls, you can definitely tell the style is a little dated but looks quite classic and nice. Had a wonderful stay at the DoubleTree Hotel in Mundelein. The rooms were nice and clean and the pool was a huge plus for the kids. They have a restaurant and bar which was a bigger plus for my husband and I and the drinks and food were very good as well. We love a nice breakfast in the morning as well and this place delivered! Hot breakfast with many choices, my family and I enjoyed our stay and will be coming back. Highly recommend.

Dated hotel that is clean, gives slight The Shining vibes. Not enough outlets by the beds so I had to charge my phone on the table at the end of the bed so my husband could use the only bedside plug for his cpap machine. Water pressure great, evening time water is 3rd degree burn hot. We were on the 4th floor in room 456 at the end, long walk but it was quiet. Breakfast was great but not included.
