Disappointing front desk service. The blackout curtains are excellent, but built-in nightlights in the light switches undermine their effectiveness. AC won’t drop below 71°F, making the room uncomfortably warm. Pillows are lumpy, stiff, and difficult to sleep on. Overall, poor sleep conditions—which is the primary reason for my stay.

We had an amazing stay, we came from Houston and this place and staff left a great impression on us. The entire time there, they were so polite and kind. I wanted to access the pool and couldn't for some reason. When I went to talk to the front desk, they gave me another key card to try but it didn't work. She said if it doesn't call me on the server lines all over the hotel. She answered and had someone from the Maintenance team come open for me in minutes. I'm a Hilton Diamond member, and I was very impressed with the service at the Austin University area DoubleTree. Everyone is kind, friendly and helpful. The food and beverage manager Veronica is outstanding, and the chef Maria made a delicious, lovely omelet. The cleaning and front desk staff members, including Gio and Solomon, are professional and first rate. I enjoyed the location, especially the trees and downtown view. Love the parking!
