No se quien la cosine pero como ahutentico mexicano que soy, su comida ( mexicana) deja muchisimo que desear. Nada que ver con la comida mexicana de verdad. La primer vez que estube alli y la prove pense que el cosinero abia tenido mal dia, eso fue hace como unos 12 años , pero despues volvi a ir y siguia igual, pero el dia sabado 25 de noviembre, la comida sigue peor en verdad. ( las veses que fui, fue por invitacion de mis amigos) si alguien gusta mas detalles me pueden contactar!!!

We were traveling through the area and staff at our hotel Hacienda de Leal recommended Dona Esther and a few other local restaurants. We ate at Dona Esther's and thought it was wonderful! Friendly, good food, Friday night entertainment, with a relaxed atmosphere. Enjoyed the experience and would go back again if it was not so far from our home in southern Illinois.
I was there with a friend on Labor Day. Food was excellent as usual. I especially like their shredded beef and they use generous amounts in their tacos. Chips and salsa with a beer while waiting for our food hit the spot.
For starters the best chips/salsa!! Order the flour chips with chunky salsa. Can't go wrong with the mixed fajitas, chile Colorado or albondigas soup. #12 meal is my favorite, steak..rice/beans..soup/salad and cheesecake or choc cake. Margaritas are amazing, especially the new cucumber one. For desert, the famous homemade flan is spectacular!!! Always recommend Dona Esther's to all my family and friends.
what happened this morning? buffet food wasn't up to par! it's normally very good!!! chorizo and eggs were burned and very salty, beans had no salt, menudo had no flavor, chile verde was dried out, chips were soft...and baskets of chips were pre-set at empty tables with flies everywhere, one bbq rib was good...the second rib was rancid tasting, nopales were soggy. it's usually a lot better than this! the only good/fresh tasting item was the pan dulce...and that's probably because it came from off the premises.
