WATCH OUT OWNER SKIP IS A PSYCHOPATH. While walking down the street in front of Does we encountered the owner, Skip Long who was foaming at the mouth and brandishing a glass peppershaker. We started to run, but he chased us in his car with a murderous glare in his eyes. We only barely escaped, and god knows what this killer would have done had he been able to catch up with us!
Terrible – I went there recently for a visit after reading he Urban Tulsa and I thought I would give this place a shot...worse mistake of my life! It looked like a nice establishment until we went inside, It looked like a garage sale with the decor. The prices are $$$$ for Oklahoma. I do travel several places and ate at fine dining restaurants. Imagine the Horror – I can't speak to the food, we were never served. I was recently married, and my company wanted to treat me and my wife out to a nice dinner as a gift. I called ahead and spoke to Mr. Long the professed owner. He stated since my company had a couple offices in Tulsa he would accept a company check and do a "gift certificate" since they didn't have gift cards. Avoid This place – We had a birthday celebration here with a total of 26 people. After being repeated told by the manager prior to my arrival that my headcount had to be exact, i made sure I was spot on. During our visit, I was pulled aside and told my guests were not spending enough money. They needed to spend at least $45 per person, and that I needed to encourage them to order items to-go. Disappointing – We ate here a few weeks ago because we had heard good things about the steaks and tamales. The tamales were excellent, and the steaks were good, albeit overpriced. The service was poor and the salad was terrible. All things considered, I do not recommend this place because it is overpriced, overrated, and the service is poor at times. A big disappointment!
Going downhill quickly... – My boyfriend and I had eaten here a few times last December and it was great. He took me there for my birthday Saturday night and we had quite a different experience than in the past. First of all, they took Ranch off the list of available salad dressings. Disappointment – As a first timer to Doe's I had high expectations for an establishment that has a reputation for specializing in steak. It had been a while since I had enjoyed a thick, delicious, steak, and it will be a while longer after my trip to Doe's. I was seriously disappointed in the quality of steak that I received, it being dry and overcooked. Poor service and rude owner! I predict this restaurant won't last much longer. – Last night I had the unfortunate experience of dining at Doe's. I should have known the experience was not going to go well when the man seating us apologized regarding the server we were getting. We were a party of 8 with reservations.
