About this business

Billed as a finer diner, this small, newly beloved neighborhood eatery has people standing in line on weekends. Weekdays, it is crowded with locals sampling delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner. Familiar dishes are made with a twist: try the chocolate-stuffed French toast, macaroni and cheese topped with Rice Krispies or wild mushroom lasagna. If you want more conventional fare, there is always the omelet by design (you choose the fillings), tuna salad nicoise, portobello burger or vegetarian dishes. The service is warm, an... read more

Pretentious with a distinctively 3rd world charm. – Where to start? Food-Cold. Service-Non-existent. Management-Cell phone oriented. For better food, service and price, drop $.25 in a gumball machine and enjoy!!!

User review by pamantha – The raspberry/marscapone-stuffed pancakes are so divine it's actually worth putting up with the rude and incompetent service.

China Girl? – I'm sorry, but don't you think it's offensive to name a dish on your menu "China Girl"? Why is this acceptable even though no one in their right mind in this day and age would call a dish "Black Boy"? After complaining to the owner, who said he would change the menu, it still hasn't changed. They should be embarrassed of themselves.

LOVE this place! – I just stumbled across this spot (I live in the area) and completely disagree with the last two reviews. This place has GREAT breakfasts (chocolate stuffed french toast is to die for) and the sandwiches are delicious. Yes, it's a little pricey, but definitely well worth it.

Dizzy's = Dizzying Foods – Recently rent to Dizzy's for the 2nd time. Both times the food was excellent, but you also have to give them a reason to shine. I got the lumberjack-esque dish so everything was good but pretty standard, my beau was smart and got a Reuben and it was stellar - the best we've ever had! Very good fries too. Banana pancakes were amazing... not too sweet, but extremely flavorful. Huervos rancheros are also excellent. A very solid and fun place with a retro vibe!

Dizzying Prices – Went to Dizzy's for brunch based on good reviews read on this site, and was very disappointed. The brunch entrees were shockingly overpriced, even for the area, and especially given the food quality. I had the three egg omelette with fillings of your choice, and for a whopping $13 received a dish with a lot of one ingredient and none of the other, and a side of anemic homefries. Service was adequate, but not overly helpful or friendly. Will not return.

Comfort food and a neighborhood institution! – I have been going to Dizzys at least once a week for lunch and it has become a ritual I can not live without. I live for the daily sandwich special and an RC cola. The service is always friendly and prompt. Whether you sit at a booth, up at the counter, or out on the sidewalk cafe, there isnt a bad seat in the house. I love picking up a picnic on my way up to a Celebrate Brooklyn concert or just stopping in for a cup of joe and Coltrane wrecked hard (scrambled egg with sausage o... read more

Fruit Salad that's actually got something to say. – Dizzy's is not a regualr spot for me but I just stopped in for breakfast toady. I never get fruit salad from resaurants because I am usually so dissapointed, but today I tried thier "power breakfast", and was blown away. They had cut up mango, kiwi, raspberries, blueberries, and peaches (along with the ubiquitous melon)!! They served it with the standard granola and yogurt, but it was really incredibly good. I don't expect you would find this in mid winter, but I 'd probabl... read more

Good food and friendly service! – Caesar salad and vegetarian chili was really yummy! Attractive waitstaff and hetfy portions! I recommend trying it, but avoid the booth seating on the right when you walk in - no leg room and awkward table height!
