We are really pleased with how our hardwood floors turned out. We had just purchased this house and wanted the hardwood floor refinished before we moved in. Mike worked with our schedule and had a sample of how the floors would look. The existing floor is beveled white oak with an aluminum oxide finish. Mike sanded the bevel out and refinished them with a natural matte finish, they look great. Highly recommend this company and would use them again.

Mike and his team did a fantastic job refinishing our red oak hardwood floors. They were in bad shape and Mike and his team restored them to like new condition. We highly recommend Distinctive Wood Floors. They were prompt, knowledgeable, thorough and detail oriented.

We cannot recommend Mike and Distinctive Wood Floors highly enough. Mike dropped by to look at a 2' x 8' section of floors to which a low quality rug pad had become attached. Pulling up the pad left a mess of felt and adhesive stuck to the polyurethane surface. We expected Mike to recommend resurfacing or replacing the damaged section. Instead, Mike explained that the combination of denatured alcohol, plastic scrapers and a lot of elbow grease would solve the problem. 24 hours later, the floor looks great. As a general contractor in the area, Distinctive Wood Floors has been our preferred hardwood installation company for well over a decade. They bring knowledge and expertise to an industry with many nuances of products and existing conditions. They have done new installs on solid hardwood, engineered, laminate and LVP for me. They have done retro jobs for me including splicing into existing hardwood floors in a manner I if I did not know where the original floor started and where the new began, I wouldn’t be able to find it. ... read more
