Dr.Weerasinghe saved my life in 2020. I was overweight and suffering from Stage 4 kidney disease (eGFR of 19). Dr. Weerasinghe performed Bariatric surgery and within a few days my eGFR rose to 23.Since then, my kidney function has improved and has been in the Stage 3 range, as high as eGFR37. Currently, due to a hip replacement surgery, my eGFR has been 29. I highly recommend Dr. Weerasinghe as a compassionate, caring, and competent physican and surgeon.
I have been dealing with for a few years now and been wasting time getting a run around since not being " approved for", which i was told would be a simple approval from my provider, it was not. In addition, it wasn't even for the procedure I went for. Mine was for Gerd and for another major issue. Now, it seems ive just been forgot about. Dr. Weerasinghe's professional knowledge during our consultation were intertwined with words of encouragement, that have changed my life. I'll never forget his advice on clean eating and its relationship with better living. He is one of the best doctors I've ever had.
First and foremost I just want to say that this is the best doctor in Rochester New York very professional he was sent from God. Dr Werrinsinger is just a blessing in the sky. Dr. Weerasinghe and his entire staff are absolutely amazing: professional, caring, and attentive. My whole experience at both offices at RGH & Unity were positive ones. I was able to book my initial consultation appointment in an impressive timely manner, and they walked me through the entire process for bariatric surgery. I love the fact that Dr. Weerasinghe is a pioneer in opioid-free anesthesia; and after bariatric surgery, my pain was managed without narcotics!!! Very knowledgeable and extremely skilled surgeon. Did perform a second corrective bariatric surgery and was out the same day and have nothing but excellent things to say about the doctor and the staff. I had been a patient of Dr O Malley who did the first surgery and was not impressed with him. Dr Weersingh and his staff are like night and day. He has an excellent bedside manner and cares a lot about his patients. I would highly recommend him. We are blessed to have a doctor of his stature here.
I'm 93 yrs old. Hernia repair in am and home that evening Painlessly able to prepare dinner and get a good nights sleep. Without any opioids before, during, or after treatment. Had other side hernia 10 yrs before and recovery was lengthy and painful but this time quick and painless. I didn't feel like just another patient with Dr. W but felt he really cared and was professional. I got lucky!!
First appointment with him, took a call during my appointment, waited for 20 mins for him to come back to talk to me. Colonoscopy made me wait over 2 hours before I even got back to the room. Then got an attitude with me cause I was pissed off about waiting. Very unprofessional so called surgeon. Would like an apology for an attitude that you got with me.
