Editorial fromLocals like Dick's as much for the memories as for the burgers. One of five vintage 1950s drive-ins in the greater Seattle area, the menu has featured classic burgers---served one way only, with ketchup, mustard and a pickle, no special…

Dicks is the best. – If you don't like it, PLEASE go back to California, eat at In and Out, Fatburgers, whatever. And take your pollution, and developers, with you. I'm not in the least bit nostalgic for Dicks - have lived here all my life and have no reason to be nostalgic. I've tried the places in California, and frankly you can keep them there.
Low quality fast food – Im not from California and i still think Dicks is vastly overrated. I just cant equate Dicks to good fast food. I'll take a Burgermaster over this place
Seattle's legendary burger-flipping and milkshake-slinging takeout joint, going strong since 1954. – In Short Dick Spady's orange-hued drive-in is Seattle's answer to the Golden Arches. The later it gets, the younger the crowd as teenagers and college partiers stop in for late-night fuel. The Dick's Deluxe comes topped with American cheese and a squirt of pickle-specked mayo. Hand-cut fries (pay a few cents extra for ketchup or tartar sauce) and Vitarich milkshakes are meant to be eaten in the front seat of the car, radio bl... read more
Too much Hype....Nasty food – I just went to Dicks after 2 yrs and the burger was nasty!! nothing like i remembered it...the burger I got was cold and hard dispite the 10 min wait in line....the least they could do is make it fresh. Went to California in the winter and I have to say...the burgers from In-N-Out are no comparison!! If I am ever in the area again, I would rather go to the Jack in the Box across the street...at least they will guarantee my food to be warm.
How can so many people be so wrong? – I understand every gets nostalgic for the burger place they grew up with, but come on! Hasn't anyone travelled outside of Seattle and had a decent burger? Everyone who thinks Dick's is the best should take a road trip down to California and try In 'N Out. I promise you you won't think so highly of your beloved Dick's after that.
Dick's is just average, nothing great. The fries are so greasy and soggy tha couldn't eat them. There are other places in Seattle that have much better fast food.
Nasty Burgers – Having grown up in LA, having eaten Tommy's and In-N-Out burgers all my life... I couldn't wait until the next time I was in Seattle to try a Dicks cheeseburger and fries. I should have read the reviews and figured out that everyone here who left a positive posts was due to nostalgia, not because it actually tasted good. In all honesty, their cheeseburger was the nastiest I had ever eaten, no better than the 7-11 burgers. Who the hell puts tartar sauce on a burger, tartar sauce goes with fish nicely, but not ... read more
It Must Be Nostalgia Because Dick's Has.... – ....Maybe the worst burger I've ever eaten........EVER!!! I don't understand the high ratings. If it's late at night, and you've had too much too drink, and no safe mode of transportation to get to anywhere else, and Dick's is in walking distance, and you don't mind eating sub-par food....then go to Dick's. If you are from California, and a frequent diner at In and Out........AVOID DICK'S LIKE THE PLAGUE. Everything about the burger tasted too sweet--as if too much sugar was adde... read more
Oh, how I love me some Dicks! – If you aren't afraid of a little (or a lot of) grease, their fries are some of the best in Seattle. Also, their Dick's Special Hamburger is cheap and tasty - their special sauce is so good! It's hard to stop their, though, when they have really good shakes in a variety of flavors for only $1.30 more. For fast American food they are much tastier than McDonald's, cheaper and you're supporting a local business that has demonstrated exceptional ethics throughout their history in the Seattle area. ... read more
