Purchased home 7 years ago. couldn't be more pleased. The entire experience was a joy start to finish. No detail was overlooked. The time and are taken by Philip Crotwell and staff made the journey an exciting one. I highly recommend Design South Homes to anyone looking for quality and exceptional craftsmanship.

Worst contractor for a custom home design and build. Philip put up a good front as a "nice guy" but once it came to fixing the many punch list issues we walked through the build, some where small items other were significant: -->fingerprints in pain -->backsplash tile that he had "washed" and became stained with permanent streaks -->cracked tile -->concrete residue on wrap around porch -->sticker left the dormer window -->the plantations shutters we planned for in the design stage, ended up not being able to open because he ... read more

emailed them twice for information, about a month apart. Never heard back. Drove by the office mid-week in the afternoon to see if I could catch someone, office was locked with no hours posted. Called and left a voicemail requesting a callback, no response. I really liked the homes on their web site, and the central Florida location they specialize in. But I just got repeatedly ignored.

Have been working with this builder for years. Very personable, dependable, and knowledgeable about all scopes of the construction industry. He builds a wonderful home and gives such insight when drawing plans and designing custom homes. One of the best in Lake County hands down!
