After a failed attempt at repairing my hip with arthroscopy (different Dr. & Ortho Center) I went to see Dr. Johnson. After reviewing my x-rays and MRI he recommended a total replacement. Three months post-surgery I'm feeling 100%, absolutely ZERO hip pain! I'm 46 years old and my only regret is that I didn't do this 2-3 years earlier, "holding out" just isn't a good treatment plan. I highly recommend Dr. Johnson and the entire Centura team to anyone who is considering hip replacement.
Dr, Derek Johnson replaced my knee, TKR. I am at 6 weeks today and doing excellent. The scar is minimal, the knee looks fantastic through the recent xray, 3 days ago. I am doing my PT and eating correctly, like I was instructed. Each day I feel better and am anxious for the days ahead. Dr. Johnson is very knowledgeable in his profession and he cares. You can't get perfection with just knowledge. The staff is wonderful and caring as well. I am blessed and grateful that he crossed my path.
I met Dr. Johnson at a Joint Replacement seminar at Parker Adventist Hospital, Parker, CO. I was impressed by Dr. Johnson's no nonsense approach to joint replacement & the processes he uses to minimize the hospital stay & pain during recovery. I am now into week 7 post-op & am pain free with a straight leg. I so appreciate Dr. Johnson's approach that includes his patients as part of the team both pre-op and post-op & his setting of expectations. Life changing surgery. I'm very happy.
Having known Dr. Johnson since my wife's hip replacement 4 years ago, when my hip began hurting I knew who to call. Dr. Johnson and I progressed through the cortisone injections to the recommendation for surgery. All went well and I was home the same afternoon. My new hip and I will thank Dr. Johnson every time I go for a walk. I would definitely recommend Dr. Johnson to anyone who asks.
My husband and I have been in Dr. Johnson's care for hip replacement surgeries and follow-up care intermittently since my surgery in 2013, and now my husband's hip replacement surgery this November of 2017. Dr. Johnson's skill and keen attention to all the details of our treatment have been outstanding. We would highly recommend Dr. Johnson as an orthopedic surgeon. He a highly skilled evidenced-based physician who has been with us on this healing journey heart to heart and "hip to hip." :-)
A year ago, Dr Johnson replaced my 65 year old knee with the "Conformis Custom knee" and the results have been excellent. I have been extremely happy with the surgery and my contact with Dr Johnson. He takes the time to explain everything that will be done facing surgery as well as reviewing the results in post-op and subsequent reviews. He goes out of his way to answer every question I have presented since the first time we met. I believe the custom knee is the best choice as does Dr Johnson
Excellent surgeon. I did what he told me to do and am further along than I expected and doing great after just 6 weeks. I already have the next knee scheduled. Pain in the surgical knee is minimal, much less than the knee that still needs to be replaced. Follow the Physical therapy guidelines and that is the key.
Dr. Johnson is absolutely the best of the best. I just finished having both hips replaced, one hip in April and the other in August, I feel terrific and walk five miles a day. He is amazing!!!!
