We’ve been eating at Derby for years and it’s always been so great. Today was our first time there in several months. The staff and the atmosphere had completely changed. Attitudes towards customers were dark. 1) They had three tables and it took nearly 20 minutes for the server to come to our table. What happened to our Derby? Did they change owners? Went to brunch this morning, and the menu was completely changed...and not in a good way. Could not eat the eggs Benedict, the hollandaise sauce tasted like pure butter and mustard (server did remove it from the bill. Listed as $17!!) , my pancakes had to be cut with a knife. Service was very poor. Several tables around us got up and left due to no service. We will not be returning.
Ryan our server was great, but the food not so much. Get rid of the hot stacks and just make a good sandwich that is easy to eat! And the French fries were awful! The desserts were forgettable. Quit trying to be trendy and just make good food. I won't be back.
With the new menu it’s not the good ole Derby I once new. Very disappointing, and took out my favorite dish! And no more homemade desserts:(((
The new menu at Derby on Park pales in comparison to the previous one. It’s very limited (only 4 or 5 unhealthy appetizers) and unappealing. Hopefully Derby will return to the excellent restaurant it was prior to the new owners. Until then, my friends and I will be dining elsewhere.
I had a reservation for Mother’s Day, our server was very nice. The menus were paper sheets and there was no drink menu in sight. We had waited an HOUR AND A HALF for cold food. I was very surprised having been here on a number of occasions. Will not be returning or recommending, very disappointed.
We were there a couple of weeks ago. New owners in place. Most of the great crew are still there, but we were so disappointed in the menu change. Several of the old favorites are gone. No more fried pickles and mushrooms? They replaced it with Blueberries and Yogurt! Seriously?? And no more Derby Salad with Salmon? We had a couple of drinks and left without eating dinner. Actually went down the street to another restaurant. Hey new owner- please reconsider �
Officially CHANGING my review of this place! The owner of Derby on Park is so desperate for $3.71 gratuity that he called the police! Sir!!!!!! What the patron chooses to pay in gratuity is THEIR CHOICE! You cannot mandate how much the patron feels they should pay for services! The service tonight was subpar for a planned large party. They opened an hour early after the race. They seated everyone and took drink orders. Food was a little aglow coming out but the wait staff brought munchies out for free . Food was hot fresh and delicious! Totally worth the wait. We will def come back .
