RecommendedYum amazing! Big portions
we've had lunch there and it was great. We went Christmas weekend Saturday expecting a large crowd, nope, one other couple. So service was great, but the marinated shrimp were too salty. With the pork ribs, the meat was dry but covered in sauce (maybe to cover the dry meat), and our guest order the bunt cake that was super dry. We've had good food there before but they now have a new menu which might mean they have a new cook, don't know. Too many other good restaurants in that area.

The test of any bar is how well they can make an Old Fashion...Derby passes that test! Tim was a gracious host with a warm smile and friendly banter (and an awesome ‘stache). Stop by and have a cocktail or one of the many draft beers on tap.

This used to be my very favorite go to restaurant in five Points. I have been out of town for half of the year and I returned looking forward to a meal at the Derby. I get the menu and everything has changed into some strange food with names I do not recognize but I take a chance and I order something ..... it is unedible. but I'm not giving up I go back a second time because honestly the wait staff is so nice I figure I will give it a second try.......worst food then the first time and unfortunately even though the wait sta... read more

Jillian— we appreciate the kind words regarding the staff. That said— we’d like to do a little research on your visits, in particular what you could have ordered with strange names you don’t recognize or would be inedible. Quite an extreme response. Perhaps something more informative on the meal itself. But it is true that within the last year the restaurant changed hands. All new menu, same great team. Perhaps just a surprise of it all?
Great food. Great atmosphere don’t forget to try the flaming coffee.
