i got this last yr over the phone. We were in "lock down" mode because we're a senior care facility. The insurance company didn't even get my name right and without my knowing it, signed me up for automatic renewal. I never used the policy (lock-down) and this yr they used my credit card without my permission, to renew my policy. And it is only $37.00 more than it was last yr (for nothing). Customer service is NOT available on weekends, but the 'sales' dept is. I was told to call back. Can you imagine the nerve of these peop... read more

Business response:

Thank you for reaching out us in regards to your renewal. Due to the ongoing lockdown, we are a bit short handed but we are always willing to assist. Your plan was purchased on 12/19/2019 before any lockdowns were in effect. In addition when a plan is purchased over the phone a disclaimer is read regarding the automatic renewal service that is provided which can be changed at anytime. I understand these are trying times and I have refunded the automatic renewal, taken the automatic renewal off of your plan and have extended ... read more

Wish I'd thought to look here BEFORE I bought a plan. It doesn't save much money, and it's darn hard to get rid of. You have to pay for a year in advance, and can't cancel when you no longer need it. I thought if we proved we had been able to obtain dental insurance, that we would get a partial rebate. I think this is a company that preys on people who are already struggling to get affordable dental care. Now if I can just make sure they don't charge me for another year when renewal time comes...

I am a few months into a Cigna plan they offered. On their website is a list of services and the cost for each. My dentist charged a few dollars MORE for each procedure. After 2 or 3 calls to customer service, and broken promises to 'advocate' for me, I asked to escalate with a supervisor. This person who shall remain nameless asked me to jump through hoops providing dates of service, dental codes, and even zip code for dentist. In an email she said she'd get back to me 'right away'. That was 2 months ago, and all my emails ... read more

They make you pay for a year up front, then are only willing to refund 20% if you cancel after 30 days. Managers aren't available to take calls. The girls on the phone act as if they are the end all be all of crappy dental plans. These people pray on people who need gap coverage. Save your money.

Business response:

Ms. D., We apologize for the inconvenience you experienced with not being able to speak with a manager upon your initial request as one was unavailable at the time but are happy that we were able to reach you and resolve your issue amicably. We hope that our recent discussion was enough to change your view of us as a company. Please feel free to give us a call if you have any further comments or concerns.

Very deceptive renewal plan. They process your credit card a month before your membership actually expires. I decided not to renew because I really think the savings you get with this plan is minimal and they said they would credit back the money but keep $20.00 for a processing fee. Thankfully I have made arrangements with Chase to reverse the charges. Stay away from this company!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! Wish I could give no stars! Horrible Dental Plans. They say that you will save all this money but the area that I live in doesn't accept the plan. Going to the dentist just for a basic exam was over $ 500.00. Didnt even try to use it again and then we get charged the $144.95 for the annual fee.. Tried to get the entire refund and mention that I would only get $ 124.95.. This plan is not worth the money and is a JOKE ! I feel that I should get my full $144 95 back since it wasn't even worth me printin... read more

I had a gap in coverage due to not notifying my employer in time that my wife, whose job had dental coverage, had changed jobs. I only need to cover the gap in coverage for less than six months. I learned today that they had me on an automatic renewal, which I never would have agreed to, and I didn't notice anything from them in all the junk email going to my account. I just happened to be carefully examining my credit card today and saw a change from "Dental Plan" at my card site and it said merchant unknown. It was handled... read more

this DENTALPLNS.COM does not deserve any stars. they are very deceptive, misleading, and not honorable to their customers or promises. read following reviews for your own benefit!

Business response:

Mr. ******** We appreciate your feedback. This is a scam, this whole "discount" thing. First of all, on the promotional part of the website, this lists prices for the procedures, for no plan and people under their plan. Then when you sign up, and go to the website to download the prices for all the procedures, 90% of the procedures say, "20% discount". Well, dentists are notoriously secretive about what they charge. In fact, I find very few are honest about their pricing (or are deliberately vauge). So if you don't know what the charge is to begin with and can not f... read more
