At this time, I Cannot recommend AUI or Dr Vyas if you’re looking for a urologist.
I had this procedure done 2 days ago on MON 4-14-25. I think it is a very aggressive procedure and if I had it to do over I would have to reconsider based on my experience so far. The recovery is not going well. The foley catheter came out (I blame that on my (DR VYAS) and his crew) and after it came out it hurts a lot to pee. I have been peeing blood mixed with urine since. It is very painful!!! This may be an approved procedure but I think the it needs to be tweaked further before it becomes a mainstream common procedure... read more
The GOOD: Dr Healy seems to be a wonderful professional with specialized expertise in urology, but he was hindered from providing the best care for the patient by a horrible telephone road block and a proud yet unproductive assistant. After diagnosing my issue and prescribing a drug regime to aid in improving the issue, he turned it over to the assistant to coordinate with the pharmacy and the insurance company to get me started on the regime. Terrible and Inefficient. Procedure scheduled in Nov. to take place in Dec. Day before the Dec. procedure I was notified that approval from Insurance company was not received. What the heck took so long? Why wait the day before to notify patient. AUI and its staff are all screwed up , careless, inefficient and do not care about their patient - .based on my experience.
I would give a zero star if it were available. On Dec 13, 2024 I had an confirmed appointment with Dr Truesdale. My work schedule was arranged so that I could make the available time. I was shocked that when I got there, I was told that the appointment was cancelled and there were no other doctors in the office at that time. I was NOT called to inform me of any cancellation. You can not phone them. Leave a call back. Sometimes they return call in 3 hours. Other times NO CALLBACK at all. Patients are rushed through during appointments. Atmosphere among staff can be cut with a knife. Rushed, openly talking bad about other nurses to others around you. Supervisors harshly scolding nurses in earshot. It's all about making money. This review isn't for the doctors as I never got to see one. I tried to make an appointment at the Port Orange office. First, I tried calling for an appointment and after waiting in the queue for a while, I was kicked over to voicemail. I then tried making an appointment online. Horrible. Dr. Zachary didn't know what gout was. Dr. Klein wanted to immediately biopsy me with a slight increase in my PSA instead of taking a conservative approach. I guess he needed the money. PLUS he missed a lump in my prostate. I tried to make an appointment with Chad Hubsher. But when I spoke with Mike the practice manger Dr. Hubsher didn't want to see me for fear of upsetting his incompetent partners. Save yourself from incompetence doctors and an unnecessary biopsies and go somewhere else.
Doctor Heron is a Godsend. Among the Blessings I have this Holiday season; I will count Dr. Heron. I want to take time out to express a heartfelt thank you for his care, compassion, and professionalism. Because of Dr. Heron I feel safe, and I have hope for my future.
