So far the living situation is awesome, amenities are great both in the essentials and entertainment etc., and the people at the leasing office are incredibly helpful. So far, everything's been great!
My experience with this place wasn't all together bad, but my biggest gripe is with Deerwood's unethical business practices, and disrespectful treatment of a disabled veteran. My advice would be to find another place to live, especially if you are looking for something long term. I moved here from LA with my family, and we didn't apply here until the following day, after looking at other apartments. After 1 year they raised rent more than 15%! You'll pay very high electric bills after your AC work all day, because they have the worst quality windows, which are not holding air inside your house, it's like you are trying to change California climate! Very bad sound isolation, you became one family with your neighbors! And, of course, YOU'LL NOT GET YOUR DEPOSIT BACK!!!
To Deerwood, this is a business only. They don't care what issues you may have, they paint over any issue you may have in your bathroom, and any complaint is met with suspicion, condescension, and audacious skepticism. Then when your lease is up, expect an exorbitant increase. When you complain, their attitude is, "Feel free to move, we'll bring in another chump who will pay the rent!" Steer clear. You've been warned.
The office staff is nice and helpful. The manager Brian is always on top of things. Service requests are done within 48 hours and everyone loves Fernando in service. He's really friendly. Lately the open parking has been difficult in the evenings because there are so many residents, but if there are available covered parking spots you can buy an extra one for $25/month (at least one is already included with your apartment) *yes, rent will increase when you go to renew your lease but the rates are based on supply & demand and... read more
