My cancer doctor diagnosed I had Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which is a rare form of the shingles virus that affects the facial nerve near one of your ears. Because the virus was found in my spinal fluid, my cancer doctor, who I respect greatly, recommended that I see Dr. Rodman to examine my left eye to determine if the virus had traveled there as well.
