I love this dentist and his staff. I trust what he and his team suggest. I also like that he has a diverse and knowledgable staff. It's local so I appreciate how neighborhood-ly it feels. Professional but not sickly slick.

After our longtime dentist retired, we needed to find a new one. We chose Dr. Petchalonis because we wanted to support a local dentist within walking distance of our home. We were willing to forgo a sleek, modern office for the personalized care we expected from a sole practitioner. Unfortunately, we were completely wrong. I was referred to Dr. Petchalonis by a good friend, who swore this was the finest dentist in Philly. After some nervousness, I made my first appointment last year. I can say for sure that my friend was right! With some embarrassment, I admit that I hadn't seen a dentist in too long a time. Dr. Petchalonis helped me with multiple fillings and crowns, including build-ups. He helped diagnose, resolve, and replace some metal fillings that I had from decades ago. I visited dr. petchalonis office it was an ok experience. Very stand offish assistant who left the room with his gloves on for a few mins and came back in the room with the same gloves very disgusted. While waiting to be check out standing behind another person dr only had one receptionist who was very kind . Dr began to come up and call him stupid or tell him it sounds stupid something of that nature ! This dentist over-recommends/upsells expensive treatments for presumably financial gain (could also be poor clinical judgement). If you are new to Dr. Petchalonis and are suddenly told you need fillings, crowns, root canals - please seek a second opinion. This dentist takes advantage of the everyday person's lack of dental knowledge - we generally trust a dentist will recommend appropriately.
