I had my foot totally reconstructed. He and his team are amazing. Never rushed, always professional, takes all the time you need. He answers any and all questions. When i thought i had a problem, I was seen in a timely manner. Go team Dalstrom.!
Foot fusion. Didn't go well. Dalstrom is a flippant surgeon, who quotes literature instead of evaluating the actual patient in front of him. Would highly recommend you go to a doctor that actually cares, and is mentally engaged enough to help you navigate your medical decision.
Dr Dalstrom is a nice guy, his staff are lovely. However he didn't fix my foot. I am 8 months out from a bunion and hammer toe repair and now I have more pain and swelling than before the surgery. I have limited range of motion and thus I am not able to exercise. I still do not fit into my regular shoes. And worst of all the bunion is still there. Whilst visiting my daughter and her family in Rancho Santa Fe in April 2018 I suffered a fall resulting in multiple and complex fractures to my left arm and leg and including the elbow and knee. I was placed, very fortunately, under the care of Dr David Dalstrom who completed the surgery to restore my arm and leg. Returning to Australia, a leading Melbourne orthopaedic surgeon praised the intricate work of Dr Dalstrom. As a result, I walk without a limp, have a functioning arm and NO pain.
My wife had toe surgery. First few doctors we saw wanted to do much more invasive surgery. Dr. D listened, really cared, and gave us a shot . My wife had minor surgery and cared for her for almost a year. Dr. D, and his team are the best and most caring professionals you will ever find. We feel fortunate to have found Dr. D
I had a pretty severe break of my right leg, I had compartmental syndrome and required surgery right away to save my life and leg. The surgery required external fixation while the swelling went dont enough to operate on the leg a second time. I had 5 seperate fractures to my lower leg. Dr Dalstrom was so kind and went above and beyond to see that i was well informed along the way and treated me in a way that I really mattered to him. Dr Dalstrom is such a kind and knowledgeable surgeon.
Excellent surgeon. I basically exploded my Calcaneus & was lucky enough to be referred to Dr Dalstrom. Not only was he able to piece the puzzle back together but he did so in a fashion that healed way faster than what I was expecting without any complications. Foot injuries are complicated & he knows how to treat them properly. The whole staff at Torrey Pines is very nice & caring. I highly recommend Dr Dalstrom & Torrey Pines to anyone unfortunate enough to need their services.
From the moment myhusband had his first appointment we knew we made the best decision! Dr. Dalstrom is personable, honest, kind, caring and so knowledgeable. My husband had surgery today and it was an amazing experience from beginning to end. You can't go wrong with this doc!
Couldn't agree more with the other comment. I've had more problems since I've seen him and he couldn't have been more disinterested. Didn;t show my the MRI results, just spoke to them. I've been to 2 other doctors since and I noticed that they asked me to walk so they could see what my ankle was doing, and I've been to Dr Dalstrom 3 times and he hasn't once asked to see me do anything.
