I was impressed with Dr. Benton. He had a lot of patients but took the time with me that I needed. I noted a couple of commenters who had bad experiences. I respect their opinions but mine differ.
Dr Benton was angry and disrespectful when being asked care questions in an unconfrontive manner. He was disparaging of concerns about my husbands health. I didn’t find him at all like the reviews of others. My impression is that he doesn’t like his thinking questioned. I wouldn’t recommend him .
Dr. Benton truly cares about his patients and it’s evident in everything he does. He listens to you, explains his answers in a patient and caring way, and speaks to you as a human being, not another number in line. He seems to understand that this is terrifying to go through and shows compassion while patiently explaining test results and making recommendations. I fully trust his guidance and expertise. He is an excellent oncologist.
Dr. Benton took time to listen to my concerns. I felt he understood my needs after the conversation. He was professional, promptly called back when I called with a question, and he took time in the middle of my appointment to consult with a colleague over who would be the best surgeon to remove my speific type of cancer. I would highly recommend him.
He was extremely helpful in presenting answers to any question that I wanted answered. Did not overwhelm me with medical speak. He allowed for me to take an active role in decision making. I'm now going into my sixth year post diagnosis of stage 4 prostate cancer and doing well.
Diagnoised my cancer, has been awesome treating me & referred me to awesome Dr at Dartmouth for my stwmcell transplant.
Dr. Benton took wonderful care of my mother. He did not talk down to either of us and made certain all our concerns and questions were answered. Dr Benton always made Mom feel like she was very much included in her updates and ongoing decision making. I believe Dr. Benton gave us the information we needed to make informed decisions. We were never rushed through our appointments. The entire staff was sensitive to this difficult and sad time in our lives.
Unprofessional, rushed, and not forthcoming or positive with information. Did not take time to offer to answer questions. Made him overall untrustworthy.
Knowledgeable, caring, accessible. Makes you feel like you're his only patient.
