I found Dr. Brenner to be an excellent Gastroenterologist. At a time when physicians can't make a diagnoses without a team or an electronic search engine, Dr Brenner brings his education and experience to the patients bedside. He took the time to unravel my long term GI issues, providing a treatment plan, and a strategic plan to prevent any further issues and damage. As a retired surgeon, I find it unfortunate that many are critical if they have to wait, or not seen on the dot for their appointment. The reality is the practi... read more
What makes Dr. Brenner a great physician is his promptness in answering my questions, his careful and analytical diagnostic process, and his ability to REALLY listening to my medical history or concerns. His compassionate attitude, empathetic communication skills, his positive and pleasant interaction, and willingness to help me in making medical decisions set him apart from all the other physicians I have encountered in my life time. He leads a well trained office staff who are equally positive, prompt in returning calls or... read more
I would definitely recommend Darren Brenner, M.D. He is very knowledgeable, precise and kind.
Dr was very impatient during the appointment which led to a very brief and frustrating appointment. He appeared preoccupied and rushed. Later, Dr. Brenner's opinion and diagnosis was deemed to be incorrect as proven by a second and third physician.
Dr Brenner has treated my daughter since he came to Northwestern (2009 I believe). We had lost hope in other doctors we had seen for 5++ who were highly recommended but couldn't figure it out. As a result, my daughter was getting sicker and sicker. I didn't expect her to live another 2 years. He was our last hope. Immediately, he had a suspicion of what it was. He diagnosed her correctly and today, she is 33 yrs old and thriving; very proud of the fact she hasn't been hospitalized in yrs.
This is the worst experience I have ever had with a doctor. My appointment was poor; he spoke with me for about 3 minutes and recommended an MRI (never looked at me or examined me). Never followed up with me after the MRI so I called him a week later. Told me I needed to see a Neurologist but cannot tell me why. This guy is RIDICULOUS! I will never see him again and will need to get an attorney involved now.
Dr. Brenner listened to my symptoms and said he thought my condition was not what my first doctor had said. The nurse was able to help me get a required test much faster and Dr. Brenner got back to me pretty quickly with the results. The staff is extremely caring, friendly, and sympathetic. Very short wait time.
This was my first time seeing Dr. Brenner. Except for the procedure he performed. He has a nice mannerism. I found nothing wrong with him professional wise or other. He knew I came in with a critical problem. He addressed it accordingly by ordering a complete workup. I didn't like it but I knew how important it was for my health to do so. I didn't see anything unnecessary. The office staff was friendly and courteous.
