Two other diners along with us were in the bar area on a Sunday. We were getting great service from the bartender and the appetizer was good. Then, halfway through the visit a man we now know was the GM started quietly scolding out in public the bartender along with a waitress in passing. Very animated....arms waving. It was embarrassing for me and my guest and I'm sure for the bartender. Was there tonight. Great Service from an awesome bartender. Funny and cute! Will be back for sure.
Food is good. But service is beyond slow. We've tried several times and had to walk out the last time. They blamed us for not ordering it to go to get our food faster, even though we wanted to eat there. We won't be going back.
Horrible service. Took an hour and a half to get food we had to take to catch a movie. Terrible. Will never be back
My friend and I recently had a combined graduation party at Stone Yard. We were treated with the utmost respect, and everything was handled smoothly. We called a couple of months in advance to schedule, and the gentleman (possibly owner or manager) was very cordial. He made sure we had everything we needed and did not even expect payment until the end of the night. We ordered their beer, snack mix, and cheese/sausage tray. We just ate here today. We are not from Appleton but travel there a couple times per year. This was the most expensive poorly made food we have had in a LONG time! We missed the brunch (Easter) and ordered off of the menu. I had the prime rib sandwich. It was literally burnt mushrooms and onions on a bun. When I asked for au jus, not only was it too a burnt slurry of grill drippings, onions & mushrooms I was charged $0.50 extra for it!!! The one positive was that our waitress Jennifer was pleasant!
We used to live coming here but after last night's terrible service I doubt we will ever return. And... at one time I would have said best old fashions in the valley now I can barely drink them. Disappointed!!!
