Baggage handlers after checking-in also hold up the line and want to see your ID, after they already inspected it several times. Then, moving on to TSA line, the TSA agents block your way while attempting to retrieve personal carry-on! Waste of time to treat everyone like criminals.
I suggest you bring a carry on if you don't want the airport employees to steal all of your belongings. Super shitty airport, the employees are rude and completely unconcerned once you leave. Next time I visit, the only things in my checked bags will be dirty clothes and stained **** toys. Have at that, thieving ***holes.
What happened to the ALOHA sign to welcome you when you arrive to Honolulu?
Worst international airport I’ve ever been to. Very disorganized. An inconvenience for international travelers just passing through. Worst planning. Just to connect to another flight, one must get out and go through check-in again, tsa again, and get to the gate that was right next to the gate I just got out of. Absolutely RIDICULOUS!!!! Bad signage, very dirty bathrooms (some without doors), very limited food choices, cranky staff. I’ve seen third world country airports that are much nicer than this.
Overdue for a remodel 30 years ago. Start all over. Bathrooms are 5th world conditions.
