We serve oysters on the half shell, fried oysters, broiled oysters, oyster stew, oyster Rockefeller and a Cajun oyster sandwich. Our oysters, fish,draft beer and wine are all local. Great & friendly service, perfect food, and the most beautiful character inside the restaurant. A must when in Portland!
Had an amazing dinner here this evening! The prawns were so delicious and swimming in such a yummy sauce! They tasted like mini lobsters! Actually, they were the size of mini lobsters! We will be back!
My sister and I tried the Oyster Bar for the first time yesterday. WOW!! Keoni is such a personable owner. SheHe really made us feel welcome. My sister was highly impressed with Kenoi's home made, from scratch clam chowder. She said it wasn't grainy and he wasn't stingy with the clams lol. I really liked their oysters on the half shell and his fried oysters were to die for!
A portland classic. I went here when I was a kid. Thankfully they are still around and the food and service is outstanding. 10 out of 10 stars.
Dinner here on 10/17/15. Service was poor, the food was not good and way overpriced for the quality and quantity. My best suggestion is to find another restaurant for oysters. We have been coming to Dan & Louis for many years and will not be back. The poor waitress was constantly making excuses for the kitchen..."new cook in training" etc. etc. Why would a quality, organized restaurant be training a new cook on Saturday night?
Freshest seafood in Portland! The clam chowder is amazing AND gluten free! Killer cocktails too!
Many happy family outings here going back to 1953. One of Portland's best establishments. If you like oysters you will love this place.
Nothing special. Overpriced and outdated. Downtown Portland is creepy.
First off I would rate it a -3 or 4 stars if I could but I can't so I guess 1 would work. Went here the other night had the worst experience ever. Ordered the admirals feast and when it came it had 1 giant shrimp, 1 pc of very small fish, no oysters, 2 dime sized scallops, and a handful of calamari. We ended up sending it back being that it was not worth 26 bucks. Then asked for a manager and some dishwasher came out to act as the manager.
