beautiful Sunday brunch on the patio! – What a joy to visit this establishment for the first time with my new bride. We dined outdoors shaded by an umbrella, surrounded by lush flowers and graceful trees swaying in the cool air. We started with beautiful fresh fruits, then she had the Challah Bread French Toast while I had the Baseball Sirloin. Both were delicious. My wife commented that the egg-rich challah was akin to what she grew up with as a chld in New York. The wait staff was excellent and I noted the wine list for fu... read more
Food was great – I really enjoyed dining here on a Friday evening in the garden. The waiter kindly brought us a citronella stick to repel the mosquitos. The food was delicious with the flavors blending so well together. I had the strip steak. I found the price to be a little on the high side for a place that calls itself a "cafe." The parking was difficult too. The service was a little slow but not intrusive. I'd go back there again for a special occasion.
Wed. with romantic jazz guitarist..... – great place. Had the baked goat cheese salad and a steak. Both were excellent. We went on a Wed night and they had a live jazz guitarist, and it was a nice touch. Can't wait to come back and enjoy dinner in their patio/garden.
Sunday evening: food, wine & live music – One of the best in Houston! Inventive food, terrific wine list and the service is superb. Relaxed, casual atmosphere. Start with the Southwestern Egg Rolls. Go on Sunday evening and enjoy the best jazz in town.
Excellent Food and Service – My wife and I enjoy going to Daily Review on special occasions. The food is always fresh and well prepared. The service is friendly, knowledgable and prompt. I recently had the Achiote Grilled Shrimp, and it was delicious. My only complaints with Daily Review would be the pricing, which is a bit on the high side (but I have been to far worse in Houston), and the patio, which, unfortunately, is situated on the west side of the restaurant (hot in the evenings).
great food – We had our rehearsal dinner in the Green Room and we continue to go here for special occasions. INteresting to note that this particular night there were TONS of children at the restaurant. The food here is amazing and the service is ok....parking is a pain!
A bustling see-and-be-seen River Oaks cafe with a menu featuring comfort-food dishes. – In Short With a menu as varied as the crowd, the Daily Review Cafe can satisfy a wide range of tastes. Diners start with salads and soups, then move on to pizza, pasta, grilled fish, burgers, steamed mussels, fried chicken, pork chops, vegetable lasagna, gourmet enchiladas, crab cakes and more. Diners can choose a table in the small, chic dining room or on the covered patio, which is invariably crowded for weekend brunch.
One of the Best – We had dinner last week with a party of 25. Everything from the food to the service was excellent. Great wine list! We have dined here many times and never had a bad experience. I don't know why some people complain about the valet parking. We prefer to valet wherever we go. We also love dining in the garden. We highly recommend this great restaurant!
i would never ... – after reading many reviews about this place, i went with high hopes. i was very dissappointed. When we walked in, no one greeted us. i order the vegetarian black bean chili - it tasted like black beans in black bean puree (very thick). there was no spice, no chili, no other vegeteables. the only others were the tsp on pico de gallo. very under seasoned. For my entree i got a very VERY very bland ratatouille and sea scallops. I'm not just a customer, i'm a chef. The food was very underseasoned, very large ... read more
