If this so called officer DOESN'T GO TO PRISON the Dade County Police Department should disband. You are to STUPID TO SERVE and PROTECT ANYTHING!!!!!!!! A GOD DAM TOY your going to shoot someone who is holding a toy truck. ANYONE CAN SEE THAT IT'S NOT A DAM GUN. IT'S TIME THE PEOPLE TAKE BACK THE STREETS. In this case IF I HAD A BILLION DOLLARS TO THROW AWAY I WOULD LOCK UP DADE COUNTY WITH PROTESTERS UNTIL GOD HIMSELF CAME DOWN AND SHOT THIS STUPID COP IN HIS HEAD. He sure isn't using anything in it. This is just plan attem... read more

John Rivera, you are an embarrassment to those you pretend to lead. Resign.

I understand that mistakes happen but after the individual was shot, he was then left to bleed out while he was handcuffed until the EMTs arrived. This man could of easily died and for what? because the cop mistakenly fired upon an autistic man with a toy truck. On top of it all, there was no apology, just some lame excuse that they believed his toy was a gun. If you watch the video, you can tell that the officers are yards away from the conflict. This is really sad.

Why was Mr. Kinsey handcuffed if it was in fact a mistake? And why could a 73-year old neighbor with binoculars see something police officers closer to the scene with rifles could not? This doesn't make sense. I'm a supporter of police officers - don't make me question things like this - be honest and tell the truth.

The officer who shot Charles Kinsey should be tried. Stop defending bad cops. HOLD PEOPLE ACCOUNTABLE.

I hope Mr Kinsey not only sue the city of north miami, the police department but also the Dade county police benevolent aassociation for the idiotic action of officer Jonathon aledda. I also hpe that the members of the association pressure John Rivera to step down as president for his lack of leadership and transparency. I can not believe that your department spin the story that the officer justified to shoot the young man with autism. You guys have shamed your badge and broken your oath.
