Nice to have a place for gear that is not a dealership. – Not all dealerships are bad, but boy do they tend to overprice so it is nice to find a shop with no specific affiliation. So far Cycle Gear has been pretty reasonable with a decent selection. They can also order and have things within just a few days. Overall experience has been positive.
Not bad – The employees are helpful if you ask for help but may ignore you if you don't ask - which is how I like it. Selection is decent. Not many other places to shop for gear in Austin, so they are at the top.

Good experience for me – My experience was pleasant. I had given up searching for a new helmet at the MC dealers. I couldn't find the combination of brand, style, size, and color I wanted at any one of them and was just about to order over the internet when I found Cycle Gear. They had a good mix of styles, sizes, and colors. A friendly fellow met me at the door and took me to the very helmet I was about to order over the internet. Good selection, prices, and return policy plus convenient hours and location – I've never written one of these reviews but I felt compelled to after seeing the other one. I'm sorry that guy had a bad experience since all of mine have been great, with the people there friendly and attentive. They're also all motorcycle enthusiasts. Too Busy planning their weekends – Well, we tried to shop here, but the clerk walked away in the middle of a question to take a call and decided to stay on the phone with a buddy planning his weekend. Oh well, we went elsewhere and had much better service.
Selection & Service – This store ROCKS! Selection, service, prices, all great. Best part is it's a long way from LA - up and over the mountains along I-5, with great riding all around. Motorcycle enthusiasts should look no further. Throw on the helmet and visit Andy & The crew for some great deals on great gear.
