Cuba libre? What an oxymoron!!! – The only thing this place shares with the caribbean island is its name and the fact that it's an oxymoron as well. The menu at first looks impressive, finely described and apparently carefully selected choices of "tapas" (if you ask a cuban what tapas is they will tell you is something that's definitely not eatable). Hot House Band – I've been to Cuba Libre many times, always different nights of the week, but I must say that Wednsday night is the perfect night to go. Thursday nights...the place belongs to the women..Martini and manicures galore! Saturday nights are a bit packed and there is usually a wait to get in. Always a good looking crowd. Bad Experience – We had 6 people in our group and it was not busy, but they managed to completely forget 2 entrees. The server did not even bother to say anything about the situation until he brought the 2 meals out @15 minutes after the first 4 meals came out, when everyone else at the table was done eating. At that time he said "Sorry about that" as he put the food on the table. They also decided it was still necessary to add 18% gratuity and not comp anything. great happy hour – We hit happy hour on a weeknight, so the place was sparsely populated, but the 2-for-1 tapas were excellent, as were the mojitos.
No First Date Place – This place would be immensely popular in Dallas--if you are from Texas, you know what I mean. The fact that this is highly recommended as a first date place indicates to me that, the people taking a first date there, actually do not want to continue dating said person. Otherwise, they would never take them to such a cheesed-out meat market.
Pretty girls – Nice place, you will see pretty girls. Girls-bartenders are beautiful, good shape; but they are rude. Once one og the them laughed at me when I aksed 4 beers, there were for me and my friends and I never knew why she was laughing. I asked her, but she didn't answer, she said she was too busy to answer. Anyway you can have nice time at this place and if you are tall maybe you can get a pretty girl or an mid-age married woman looking for adventure.
Love It! – Fabulous spot to hit for happy hour or just a night out. Great drink selection, tasty tapas. Ample seating and fast service, even when crowded. Upscale without being pretentious.
Jealousy? – Give me a break! Now that you have read the comments from the other bar employees that are standing aroung with nothing to do, because this place has taken their crowd, you should try it out for yourself. I say people vote with their dollars. This place is busy from 4 in the afternoon till closing every day of the week.
