The Crown Boiler we purchased is junk, it started to leak water from the cast iron heat exchanger 6.5 years after purchasing it. I filed a claim online 5/1/2023 and it went no where. So I had the installer file it with the Plumbing Wearhouse summer of 2024 and Crown denied the warranty on the covered heat exchanger saying the water we use caused it to fail !!! I installed 2 steam boilers in my house in 2014. Both of them have developed leaks on the top and are rusted everywhere. These are junk!! Totally garbage. Except for the pretty red paint they and the customer service that won't pick up the phone other than to play a recording that i need to call a plumber. No kidding! Stay away from these pieces of garbage!!
We installed 2x new Crown steam boilers in our rental property in September of 2013, the first one failed and needed replacement in 2021, the second failed earlier this year and also needs replacement. The previous boilers were from the 1950’s and we replaced them solely for efficiency, they still worked fine. Despite a claimed 12 year warranty, Crown has refused to back up their product, utterly disgusted with this company and its products.
Molly provided excellent customer service over the phone, hope to do a lot of business with CBW!
I had to read the reviews to make sure it wasn't just me. Crown is garbage, and there warranty isn't worth the paper it's on.
